With great enthusiasm, Soumya introduced and launched upPE-T VR app at the Africa Tech Festival 2023 in Cape Town. This immersive mobile app has been developed as a part of the EU H2020 upPE-T project and is capable of -

1️⃣ Visualising complex industry processes using 360° immersive videos.

2️⃣ Accelerating training for employees and learning for students & young adults about complex processes, right from where they are.

3️⃣ Raising awareness about sustainability.

Digiotouch attended the Africa Tech Festival as a part of the esteemed Estonian delegation, under the leadership of Ms. Sandra Särav, Deputy Secretary General for Economy and Innovation from The Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. It was an honour for Soumya to demonstrate the capabilities of the upPE-T VR app to Ms. Särav; Ambassador Daniel Schaer, Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa; Ms. Siisi Saetalu, and Ms. Annika Saksakulm, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia; and Mr. Joel Karubiu and Ms. Maris Orav, Estonia Business, and Innovation Agency. The launch took place at the Trade Estonia booth and the immersive app has been positively received among the conference participants.

Prior to the launch, Soumya also took part in Founder Day - Powered by Startup Club ZA, an official side event. He also introduced Digiotouch’s EdTech mission to the audience in the UVU Africa networking session with e-Estonia.

During the second day of the conference, Soumya along with the Estonian delegation met with the City of Cape Town. He introduced the upPE-T VR app to the City of Cape Town officials who engaged in further discussion on the use of immersive reality for city planning. This meeting was followed by a visit to the WESGRO pavilion.
